John to take on action avatar!

Fresh off the success of his new film Dostana, hunkstar John Abraham is getting ready to try out a new genre. John wants to do a full on action film and he wants to do it in a new way!

He said in an interview with Joginder Tuteja, “If you thought that Dostana was good then wait till next year. I am going to surprise quite a few and in the process change the face of body making. I have tasted blood with Dostana and have now mastered the art. I am now being able to explore all that I can do with my body. I will soon sign an action film"

John is in talks with several directors about this new project but has not finalised anything as of yet. Before that he has two very exciting films he will be working on. One is David Dhawan's Hook Ya Crook, which he says is, “commercial cinema at its best.” He also revealed, “After this I begin work for Abbas Mustan's next which has the most beautiful script that I have read.”

Getting back to the action genre, John feels that though he has done action sequences in his films he has never done a full-fledged action flick and he feels his body in the right shape to take on that avatar, “I have been doing action movies for last so many years but somehow the kind of role where I could get my body in motion hasn't really come to me. I want to crack that now because I have the required physicality to carry such a role. My audience has been hungry to see a lot more of me after Dostana. Now I want to give them something so visually enthralling that they would love me even more."

Priyanka feels ignored by Jo-Abhi

In a conversation with Priyanka, we discovered that the sexy siren of Bollywood is feeling ignored by the star cast of her forthcoming film- Dostana. It seems like John and Abhishek just cannot get enough of each other- not only on-screen but also, off-screen. The blame could be put on none other than Karan Johar who drilled in the characters into their brains to an extent that they actually shared the on-screen chemistry, off-screen too!



Talking of the gay culture in the film, Piggy Chops feels lucky as such an issue is previously seen in her recent film- Fashion, where Madhur Bhandarkar’s focused on the serious side of gays. But, she says that Dostana would be the first full- fledged commercial movie on gay culture.

However, the audience too is excited to watch the film, also because Priyanka’s hot avatar has done the trick!

'My girl friend got spell-bound for my machismo' – John Abraham

Hero Honda's tagline may state, 'Why should boys have all the fun?" and John Abraham brimsup punting back with his lines, "Why shouldn't boys look sexy, when girls are?" Precisely, this isn't a thigh-slapping assertion and John Abraham proves himself, to be the best lollapaloozas of it. The macho-chap of stunning physiques with small shorts walking on sun-kissing beaches of Miami should've obsessed the young missies in town. So, what his girl friend Bipasha Basu's compliments for it? "She was just mesmerized by my machismo and just praised me for it" said John Abraham when Karan Johar figured out the question.

Yeah! There's a sequence in 'Dostana' where John Abraham walks with stunning looks on the beach while Priyanka Chopra treads on her part of glamour vistas. "We have lots of intimacy scenes and audiences would surely enjoy it" says Abhishek Bachchan. The duo that donned Tom-and-Jerry roles in Dhoom is there to stand on humorous roles for this flick.

Let's see, whether these young lads would be able to sing 'Dhoom Machale' again with this film hitting screens this Friday…

I love Abhishek to death: John Abraham

The ‘reel’ life hot couple John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan get along so well together that one really wonders why most of the Bollywood beauties can’t even tolerate the sight of each other. John-Abhi’s ‘Dostana’ is certainly a lesson for the beauties like Bipasha and Deepika who apparently cant’t even stand each other.

Well, the lover boy’s recently shot for yet another number in ‘Dostana’, ‘Maa Da Ladla’ but only this time they had to shoot for it separately. And, John definitely missed him, “Abhishek is not a co-star or colleague. He's a friend. I dote on him. I love him to death. We never compete. We complement each other in ‘Dostana’. We share a great chemistry. Abhishek and I are a couple in the film”, a news daily quoted John as saying.

Talk about the reel life fantasies turning into real life fantasy!

Here’s what Director Tarun Masukhani had to say about the whole idea of shooting the two inseparable lovers separately, “I deliberately didn't shoot the song with John and Abhishek together. I wanted at least this one song 'Maa Da Ladla' to look different from the rest of the film where they're constantly together, fooling around, chumming it up. They shot individually, so the masti of the rest of the movie was missing on the sets, Unlike for ‘Desi Girl’ where all of us shot together. It was so much fun”, a news daily quoted the director as saying.

Well, it’s all good if the two hotties aren’t considering proposing each other, that would definitely be a shocker!

John and Katrina in New York

If sources are to be believed, Yash Raj Films' next is titled New York. Directed by Kabir Khan of Kabul Express fame, the dramatic thriller stars John Abraham, Katrina Kaif and Neal Nitin Mukesh in the lead and would soon be seeing wrap up of its principal shooting.

Since there is always huge secrecy around projects by Yash Raj Films, there is always a fair amount of speculation around the subject line and title (if it hasn't been finalized) of their film. This was earlier the case in films like Veer Zaara, Chak De India as well as most recently Bachna Ae Haseeno.

When contacted, YRF's spokesperson Monica Bhattacharya neither confirmed nor denied the title being New York. She simply stated that no name has been fixed yet for the film. However, even though everyone from the cast and crew is tight lipped about the film being titled New York, trade is abuzz that this indeed is the final title of the film.

Abhishek, John: The Dostana couple

It's a film, which promises to introduce the hottest couple Btown has ever seen. It's a pairing one has never seen before and in Dostana the chemistry between its lead pair Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham appears to be crackling.

Director Tarun Mansukhani, the man behind the inspired casting coup says Abhishek and John were great offscreen as well.

"They are a great couple, they enjoy each others company both on and off the set, sometimes a little too much. Especially in the gym when one is running and the other is doing push ups and it's like walking into your film only there are no cameras such good friends on and off screen," said Tarun.

Also a major talking point in the Miami based movie is John's dash from the surf a la Daniel Craig. And of course it doesn't end here in fact hard work went into making sure that the Dostana dosts dazzle.

"John never leaves the gym, Priyanka has a new affliction and between the two they forced Abhishek there as well," said Tarun.

So, with two men and a very sexy lady if you're wondering how the tale plays out, as the saying goes you'll have to wait and watch!

"It's about three friends living together, ups and downs of being friends and you'll just have to find out who the girl is going to end up with," says the director.

John dares where Salman doesn't

Salman Khan is one of the fittest actors that we have in the industry. He is a complete health freak and considering his popularity and fit body, an international energy drink company had approached him to endorse it.

We hear that Salman Khan was quite happy by the offer but later had to refuse to be a part of it due to date problems. The actor has busy schedules shooting for his forthcoming films Yuvraaj and Wanted Dead or Alive .

Also, Salman quoted a huge amount which had the company re-thinking on their association with the star. It seems that Salman’s rejection only made things simpler for the company. It’s believed that the management has now approached the fit and handsome John Abraham. An industry insider informs that John liked the concept and has agreed to endorse it... and for a lesser amount.

John wins the Race

If sources are to be believed, John Abraham has been signed by Abbas Mustan for their next, a thriller. The director-duo met the actor and narrated the subject of their film.

Says a source, "Abbas Mustan have zeroed down on John for their next thriller, after Race.

Earlier they had approached Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna and their all-time favourite, Akshay Kumar for the same role. But they couldn't work out the dates with any of them.

Finally they approached John and things seem to be working out between them."

Abbas confirmed that they had discussed the story with John. He said, "Yes, we did discuss our film's subject with John and he really liked it.

We will take it forward once John is back from his shoot abroad. We both are looking forward to it."

Abhi-John: The odd couple

The shooting of Karan Johar's next production Dostana directed by Tarun Mansukhani and starring John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan is now complete, save for a song.

Tarun's baby

Karan says, "Dostana is Tarun's baby. He and the entire crew handled everything so superbly that I was worried. As a producer I was there in Miami for the first schedule for only two weeks. I was an unemployed producer. Dostana was the title of my dad's (Yash Johar) first film and besides a sense of nostalgia meets emotion, my film and the 1980 Dostana have nothing in common. My Dostana is a love story with a fun twist." The film ended on schedule and now only an item number needs to be picturized on John, Priyanka and Abhishek which we will shoot in September when Abhishek comes back from his world tour.
Do ka dhamaal

Director Tarun says, "Dostana is about three friends. It's a cool, fun film which has emotional ups and downs. The trio play pranks and have fun together like all friends do.

It was great fun working with all of them. I thought Abhishek, Priyanka and John would give me attitude being big stars; but they behaved like newcomers and said okay for everything. We finished shooting within 75 days. It's a romantic comedy. Abhishek and John have an amazing chemistry — they come across more as a couple than anybody else."
