PVR to release 'THE LAST LEAR'

Continuing its support to the section called as the offbeat Indian made English films PVR Pictures will be distributing 'THE LAST LEAR' in India.

The movie will hit the big screens on September 12.

The film which has the specialty of being Amitabh Bachchan's first ever English movie follows other films such as 'Loins of Punjab', 'Parzania' and 'Being Cyrus' which were released by PVR Pictures.

Directed by Rituporno Ghosh who is known as a master in presenting dramatic narrative, 'The Last Lear' upon being exposed to the film lovers who had flocked to the Toronto Film Festival received excellent responses and accolades.

For Priety Zinta and Arjun Rampal who play important characters, 'The Last Lear' was the first encounter in attempting a complete English language film from India.

The movie is also the first from India to explore Shakespeare's influences on actor's lives.

This is a theme that has been an inspiration for many Hollywood stars like Al Pacino in 'Looking for Richard', Sir Peter O Toole in 'Venus' and Joseph Fiennes in 'Shakespeare in Love' to turn over a new corner in their careers.

By releasing 'The Last Lear' PVR is continuing its association with Planman Motion Pictures after distributing 'Mithya'.

Divya Dutta, Shefali Shah and Prosenjit Chatterjee are the other actors who will be seen in the movie.

By now itself glimpses of Amitabh Bachchan's long hair and Preity Zinta's uniquely Indian dressing adding a never before seen grace into her appearance have raised the curiosity of the movie watchers.

Now it is just a matter of some days before the full extent of all the specialties of this film can be presented before the vibrant tastes of the Indian audience.
