Actress Celina Jaitley has near-miss in Mumbai terror attacks

Top Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley could have been one of the victims of the horrific Mumbai attacks had it not been for her lateness.

“It’s incredible. I felt I shouldn’t be going all the way to south Mumbai. On the way, I changed the venue," she says. "Barely an hour after I reached Four Seasons, the first news about what was going on in the city began filtering in. And to think that I could have been there too! I don’t even want to think about it."

"There was panic as news spread that five-star hotels were being targeted. We really didn’t know what was going on and where. All the diners at Four Seasons were told to stay put and the area around the hotel was cordoned off."

"But I was glued to the TV all night. I couldn’t sleep a wink. My dad was in a state of panic and kept on calling from Lebanon wondering what was happening to all of us! Throughout our ordeal, I was continuously in touch with my family and friends."

Celina Jaitley to play a stripper

Celina Jaitley has just returned from London from an incomplete schedule of Tigmanshu Dhulia's King Con opposite Govinda. "The weather in London got bad. And we hardly did any work. Chi Chi (Govinda) had Rumi Jaffrey's film and I had to return to complete Hello Darling. So we came back."

She got into the Dhulia project at the eleventh hour. And she couldn't be happier. It is possibly the most fearsomely challenging role in the actress' career. "In King Con I play a stripper who's a kleptomaniac," Celina giggles. "I died laughing when I heard my role. I'm having the time of my life. I got the role just a week before shooting. They weren't sure about how to make the girl look. I play this stripper who's half-English and half-Indian."

Celina's co-star is Govinda. She's all praise for him. "I've worked with so many leading men. He's one of those rare ones who never tries to flirt or make a pass. I don't know why people talk negatively about him. Govinda is a very spiritual person."

Now Celina has one more film opposite 'spiritual' Govinda. "We'll start working together on Aditya Datt's film. I know people are talking about me and Govinda. But he's just too nice."

Celina says she's finally able to focus on her career. "Earlier I was too much in love to give enough of myself to my career. But now I've realized work is all that matters. Love will come when it has to."

Celina was also in the news for her supposed spat with Neha Dhupia in Thailand last month. The actress dismissed the rumours.

"Neha missed her flight and arrived two days late. By then Riya (Riya Sen) and I were shooting a song in identical school uniforms. The director said the hairstyles should be different. But when Neha joined us she wanted the same ribbons. I suggested different hair accessories to avoid looking identical. Neha got agitated and used unparliamentary language with me."

Since the incident happened in Celina's van the actress got upset. "The next thing I knew stories about our spat was being spread in Mumbai.

"A spat over ribbons with a co-star is not my scene. I'm also being accused of spreading stories about Riya and Paritosh Painter. I reached Thailand three days late because my passport was stuck with the British embassy. I had to make up for lost time. I had no time for all this in Thailand. My mom and dad were with me in Thailand. We were constantly together. As for Neha and me, we were hardly together. After Thailand I went straight to London. I had no idea about the stories being spread in Mumbai. I guess girls working together always causes trouble. We all have our insecurities to deal with. "

On the brighter side Riya Sen called and apologised to Celina for believing she was spreading such rumours.

Glamour girl Celina Jaitley gets robbed

Bollywood’s sexy actress Celina Jaitley has had a valuables stolen, and this all happened while she was away in Paris.

Celina herself confirms, “My 150-year-old house in Moira village, Goa called Casa de Francis Celina got robbed and my security guards and workers have been missing since then. The robbery took place last week while I was abroad, shooting. My dad went to Goa and we have lodged an FIR with the nearest police station.”

Celina adds, “A lot of visitors had been coming to visit the bungalow, a heritage property. I appointed local security personnel to keep tabs on workers and other people visiting the property as I was renovating the house completely and was facing problems. Word spread about my property and locals were curious to know more about what’s happening. Incidentally, the Goa Darshan bus stops right outside the bungalow, as a result, there is a lot of noise and there’s no privacy. All the antiques and souvenirs that I had got from different parts of the world have been stolen. I had picked up different kinds of old chairs and they have all been stolen too.”

Celina Jaitley gets candid

Currently, Celina Jaitley has no solo-lead films and the sexy lass isn’t complaining. She is happy doing small roles in multi-starrer films; at least that’s what it looks like. One such film in her kitty is Money Hai Toh Honey Hai. In this she will star alongside Govinda, Hansika Motwani, Aftab Shivdasani, Upen Patel and Manoj Bajpai. The film was initially in news when Govinda slapped an errant onlooker on the sets. As if that was not enough to garner publicity for the film, now there are rumours of a cold war between Hansika and Celina. However, the light eyed beauty has a perfectly logical explanation for that. She says, “Media and the people expect that everybody has to be best friends with everybody. That’s just not possible. But, that also doesn’t mean that there were fights on the sets.”

While everything wasn’t hunky dory amongst the two leading ladies, Celina had a gala time with her male co-stars. Apparently, she got along supremely well with all of them. She says, “On my birthday, they threw a surprise party for me. We had a grand celebration and everybody sang for me. That was really nice and sweet.”

Talking about the movie, Celina says, “The title is a sort of satire on the whole factor that Money Hai Toh Honey Hai.” Then she adds with a grin, “Come to think of it, if money is there, then not only honey, but even butter and jam will be there.”

Celina plays a struggling designer in the film whose credit is taken by others. Since she has stepped in from the fashion world, she believes that it happens in real life too.

The beauty has always managed to raise eyebrows with her super-glam and hot looks. Even in this film, in the introductory scene she is shown in a hot photo shoot. However according to her it’s no big deal. She states, “It’s a big thing for our audience if someone wears a bikini or a swimsuit. I agree if you are dancing wearing a swimsuit, it’s a little odd. But what else do you wear in a swimming pool?” Point to ponder?
