Now, filmmaker Muzaffar Ali very upset with Amitabh Bachchan

It seems that Amitabh Bachchan is rubbing everyone the wrong way these days. After the infamous Jaya Bachchan-Raj Thackeray row, for which the actor had to apologise profusely, it is now filmmaker Muzaffar Ali, who is very upset with the Big B – the reason being Amitabh Bachchan’s get-up in The Last Lear, which, the filmmaker feels is based on his appearance and mannerisms.

According to a newspaper, the normally soft-spoken director took offence about the film and its characters when it was in the making. He was called by foreigners saying they thought ‘The Last Lear’ was about him, and his son (director Shaad Ali) told him the character was being styled on him, this made Muzaffar Ali very disturbed.

At this, Ali called up director Rituparno Ghosh, and told him that he (Ali) would’ve aspired to be an actor, if he wanted attention and he wants to be left alone.

Rituparno Ghosh initially tried to pacify the filmmaker but when he refused to calm down, the director told him that he is behaving like Raj Thackeray. This further flared the old filmmaker’s ire. Ali said the remark was uncalled for, and was angry as he felt he should’ve been informed if a character was being based on him. He also criticised Amitabh Bachchan saying that he should atleast have the courtesy to call him before playing the character.

Rituparno Ghosh has made it clear that the character of the cantankerous old actor in ‘The Last Lear’ is not based on Muzaffar Ali. Let’s see now, what the Big B has to say, more apologies perhaps!
