No… this is not about his tussle with fellow Khan Shah Rukh but instead is about him worshipping the Hindu idol Ganesh. It was only last week that Salman’s image was seen on TV news channels and newspapers where he brought the Hindu God home. Now worshipping another idol apart alongside Allah is the gravest of sins in Islam and Salman Khan is guilty of that.
Mufti Manjar Hassan Khan Ashrafi Misbahi, chief of Darul-Uloom Hijaziya Chishti, issued a fatwa against Salman and his family, ordering all Muslims to boycott the Khan family. Salman’s father Salim Khan is furious by the fatwa and asks, “What is the locus standi of these people? Who are they to question people’s religious beliefs? Why don’t they issue such a ‘fatwa’ against terrorists and terrorism, which is un-Islamic? The clerics are talking nonsense.”
