"I was pleased when I got faxed cuttings of the press in Mumbai of date and was satisfied to read in the Mumbai Mirror [a Mumbai based tabloid] that Jaya on her own regretted the hurt caused and apologized," Bachchan wrote on his blog. "We never have and never can look at Maharashtra with disrespect. If inadvertently this is what has been construed, then we apologise and are sorry and seek forgiveness for any sentiments that have been hurt," Bachchan added.
In his blog, Big B has mentioned the services that he has rendered to some people who belongs to Maharastra. He opened up that he has given Rs. 11 lakh when the Marathi film Shwaas was to be screened at the Oscars. He and Jaya also acted in a Bhojpuri film free of cost. In his production company AB Corp, he always encourages Marathi talent and filmmakers.
Hope the issue settles here and Bachchan’s 'The Last Lear' opens up in the theatres of Maharastra.
