Well, Sanju is shooting for Blue and I am giving him company. We are having a blast. Phuket is a great place.
• We hear you played host to Sanju’s friends on the boat where you guys spend some time every day in Phuket?
We do spend some time on a boat, but I am not playing any kind of host. I am fasting (roza). A few directors had come down for narrations, so I simply organised lunch for them. I think I am supposed to do that. Fasting becomes a little difficult while travelling but it’s not impossible. I have been used to fasting since childhood.
• When you pray, do you wish for something special?
I have no special wishes. I pray for everyone I love. I pray for happiness and peace. But deep down my heart, there is one desire - my husband’s freedom.
• And a baby?
Baby is the next step after marriage. We are happily married and will definitely plan for a baby soon.
• Do you and Sanju want a son or a daughter?
We are not gender-biased. It will happen when it has to happen. It’s very funny, but many newspapers claim that I am two months pregnant - have been claiming so since the last two years (laughs).
• Recently, Sanju told us that he is a very difficult person to get along with. What do you have to say?
Sanju and I are different people. But I am equally difficult. Haven’t you heard of the theory that two negatives make a positive? Sanju is a great guy. He is a very simple man with a beautiful heart. And he makes me complete. I feel blessed to be his wife.
• One thing you want to change in Sanju?
I don’t want to change anything in Sanju. He is a guy with great values - obedient son, protective brother, fantastic friend, loving father and the best husband that a woman could ever wish for.
• Has marriage changed you as a person?
It has only made me Mrs from Ms. Otherwise life is the same. And yes, now my behaviour stands responsible for two families.
• Did you ever feel like changing your religion after you got married to Sanju?
I was born with my faith and I choose to die with the same. If I can’t be loyal to something I am born with, I can never be loyal to anything. I will never betray my faith.
• How is your equation with your mother and brother now?
At the end of the day, they are my blood. Their concern was my happiness. Today, I am very happy and so are they. Initially, there was a little disagreement. I told them that if loving Sanju is not right then I would rather be wrong all my life.
• We hear that you and Amisha Patel have become great friends?
Yes. She comes home for dinner and Sanju and I also go to her place. We talk and send text messages to each other every day. She is a darling. I am proud to have her as a friend.
• Who are your other friends in the film industry?
Sophie Chaudhary is a very dear friend.
