In spite of receiving green signal from Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC), the first day, first show of Singh Is King is disrupted by some Sikh activists in Punjab today. After reviewing the film for hours, DSGMC allowed the film to be screened worldwide. Some scenes had also been re-shot to remove any sort of controversy but disruption ultimately took place. The Sikh activists damaged the property of the NM cinema hall for showcasing them in a negative way. On learning about the disruption, the police personel rushed to the spot immediately and controlled the situation. They arrested some of the activists for creating hullabaloo. The protest against the film had already been declared by the Sikh organization Damdami Taksal on Thursday.
Security has been tightened around the cinema hall and many police personals have been assigned in multiplexes and theatres to avoid any sort of further damage. Singh Is Kinng is another hyped film of the year starring action hero Akshay Kumar and vivacious actress Katrina Kaif.
