Is Anupam Kher eyeing tax exemption in Gujarat on his latest film, A Wednesday, based on July 11, 2006 Mumbai train blasts? The actor recently arranged a special screening of the film in Ahmedabad for Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Says Anupam, “It is very important for us actors to come ahead and help a film that's made with a specific purpose and promotes a positive message.”
Adds Anupam, “A Wednesday addresses an issue that's close to Mr Modi as a politician, and that is why I wanted him to watch it. He shed all his prejudice and brought along many government officials for the screening. We had everyone from the Home Secretary to the DG Police watching the film.
Mr Modi also spoke on the film after the screening. Media perceptions on Narendra Modi are completely wrong. He is misunderstood because he's outspoken.”
