This was witnessed recently when all the stars including Madhuri Dixit, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Riteish Deshmukh, Vishal and Shekhar were made to stand in line on a stage. This was done at the behest of the sponsors and promoters of the show who had called the stars on stage for an exclusive 'Meet and Greet' event for their friends and family.
Confirms Vishal Dadlani, 'It was akin to a 'dulha dulhan' standing on a stage as a part of their marriage ceremony. All of us were standing at something which resembled an Indian marriage 'pandal' though done a little more sophisticatedly. The concept was the same though the execution was slicker.'
Giving more details about the logistics, Vishal informs, 'Each and every person who came to meet us started from one end of the stage, said hello to us, shared a few words, got a photograph clicked and exited from the other end. It was quite funny indeed and we were in constant splits with the way the event was turning out to be.'
'All said and done, it is always good to meet people who like you and love your work. For whatever it is worth, these are the very people who have been longing to meet you in flesh and blood after seeing you on TV and in magazines for so many years. You can sense that when they shake your hand, they do it with complete 'dil se'. In fact the best moments were those when so many of them went silent just looking at Madhuri Dixit. They were short of words and were completely enamoured to be in her presence'', Vishal gets serious here.
Now since they were in a 'Meet and Greet' event with people standing in queue to meet them, did they also receive some envelopes with bundle of notes or gifts, something which is a norm when a 'dulha' dulhan' are blessed?
Chuckles Vishal, 'No, sadly there was no 'kamai' ka scene there. All we got was blessings but no cash!'
